BACKGROUND
The Empower Persons with Disabilities Ethiopia Association (EPDEA) was registered as an Ethiopian Residents Civil Societies Organization on 11th February 2020 by the CSO Agency, Registration No. 4762, under Proclamation No. 1113/2019.
EPDEA intends to work for persons with disabilities empowerment through building their economic, educational and vocational skills advancement along with promoting disability inclusive innovations to ease their business and promoting conducive working environment for persons with disabilities for a better life quality.
Job summary
The Finance Officer will report directly to the Project Coordinator and in line with to the Director who is managing the Carpet Business Value Chain Run by Persons with Disabilities project, and will be responsible for the implementation and coordination of the project activities in EPDEA. These include supervising and monitoring the project activity in terms of the financial utilization, facilitation of the field workers related financial matters, facilitating collaboration with local government sector offices, project partners and other stakeholders, supporting the field team in the mobilization and capacity building of target communities and local governments to plan and implement, facilitating and assisting in field visits, assessments and documentation of good practices, and the preparation and submission of project report on time with acceptable quality to partners and for the office consumption as well.
In addition, s/he will provide facilitation support for ground level implementation of the project in the ground and providing support in the mobilization of community and local government stakeholders. These include supporting the field team in targeting, the mobilization and capacity building of target project sited partners, facilitating and assisting in field visits the staff, assessments and agreement signings, activity planning and direct implementation, etc.
Duration of contract: From Jan 01,2022 to Dec 31,2022 with a possibility of contract extension.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Education
- BA. degree in accounting and a minimum of 2 years proven NGO work experience.
- Diploma degree in accounting and a minimum of 3 years proven NGO work experience
Experience/ competencies
- Experience working with persons with disabilities and, or other development program with communities and local governments.
- Good English communication, writing, speaking and listening skill.
- Flexibility, adaptability and team orientation; ability to work independently yet productively is essential.
